The power plant control system developped for the Deriner Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP), which is operated by EÜAŞ HEPP Department, has been commissioned for the first unit of Deriner HEPP by TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Institute Power Plant Control Technologies Group. The project, which was signed in July 2017, covers the development and renewal of control room, server systems and the local control systems of the unit, switchgear, auxiliary systems and sluice gates with modern approaches. At the end of the project, it is aimed to increase the plant operational efficiency and availability, to fulfill secondary frequency control participation and to implement the system continuity and cyber security works. The project is planned to be completed in 2019.
Deriner HEPP consists of 4 units and has an installed capacity of 670 MW. Deriner HEPP, which is the 6th largest hydroelectric power plant in Turkey, met 0.7 % of Turkey's electricity demand in 2016 by generating approximately 2 billion kWh of electricity.
This commissioning is the first over 100 MW commissioning completed and experienced by the Power Plant Control Technologies Group.
